Speaking into the void: Using voice in podcasts and mobile learning resources
Innovation in technology enhanced learning (TEL) requires staff to develop additional academic skills. This project has three aims: firstly, to facilitate staff who are beginning to create audio and video podcasts in developing their communication and presentation skills in the new media. Secondly, to produce educational podcasts with participants and a CPD module on the production of audio/video resources for teaching and learning. Finally, to support the move to Phase-2 use of the VLE (e.g. video lectures, engagement with mobile devices and presence on iTunes).
This inter-disciplinary project is led by Dr Ann Wilkinson from King's College School of Nursing & Midwifery. Emphasis will be on performance, communication and blending content rather than technical skills. Technology support to select and use software will be provided to participants. The project is funded with money from the College's Technology Enhanced Learning Fund, 2012.
